McDonald’s Guerrilla Marketing Transforms StreetLight To Look Like A Giant Pot of McDonald’s Coffee Pouring Into Coffee Cup

McDonald’s has always been great at pulling off remarkable guerrilla marketing campaigns and I’m sure CMO’s and guerrilla marketers around the world would just love to have just a taste of that marketing budget.

Check out this McDonald’s guerrilla marketing streetlight transformed into a giant McDonald’s Coffee Pot pouring coffee into a McDonald’s coffee cup. Have you seen a fresher pot of guerrilla marketing?

Guerrilla Marketing Sharing with Free Coffee from Starbucks

Guerrilla Marketing Sharing with Free Coffee from Starbucks

In a guerrilla marketing effort to promote kindness and sharing, Jonathan Stark posts his starbucks card online for anyone to use for free, or perhaps refill! He predicts the kindness shown will encourage people to not abuse the kindness, and that people will in fact refill the card.

To take the extra step, Jonathan has created a twitter account for the card, which tweets when the card is used or its balance is depleted (a frequent occurrence). Furthermore he has also given instructions on how generous types can replenish the card’s funds online–a spin on the “take-a-penny, leave-a-penny” dish at a convenience store.

What do you think? Think people will refill the card or do you think his guerrilla marketing sharing will (unfortunately) go to waste? Check out the original article found here.

UPDATE: Apparently the guerrilla marketing free coffee campaign has done quite well for Jonathan. As Mashable wrote yesterday, he’s already netted $8,700 worth of donations in his Starbucks coffee card (check out the full article by Mashable here).

Folgers Coffee New York Guerrilla Marketing Campaign

Folgers Coffee New York Guerrilla Marketing Campaign

Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, Folgers Coffee displayed a pretty creative guerrilla marketing campaign by covering the city street’s manholes with images of a top of a cup of coffee. When the steam rose from the sewers below, it appeared that a fresh cup of coffee was steaming up.

What I’m left to wonder is, if the sewer smell was bad would it make you NOT want to drink a cup of Folger’s coffee?
